Seeing Sensi Marian present belts is a special event. I didn't know all the tradition involved. I look forward to witnessing many more in the future.  congratulations to Sebastion  to yellow and Matthew to orange.

A well earned Orange

Kung Fu Low-Belt Grading, Dec 01 2012

On Saturday December 1st many a white, yellow stripe, yellow, orange stripe and orange belt and white sash came through the doors of Kitchener Kicks eager to grade for their next belt/sash.  After 2.5 (and close to 4 for some) hours and countless punches, kicks, forms and self-defense moves they all emerged with exhausted smiles, happy to show off their new colours.

As the holidays quickly approach Christmas parties are on everyone’s calendars. The Kitchener Kicks family held their annual Christmas party on November 24^th at the Alpine Club. With carols playing in the background people entered in their holiday finest to the question “Who is that?” Turns out people look very different with their hair down and no weapons in their hands.

The demo team started off the night with their best performance of the year, demonstrating a cohesive team who looked like they’d been together for longer than just a year. Some truly exceptional performances were capped off with Sifu Christine and Sebastien doing a bo staff routine and short dragon tudor sporting the new and upcoming team uniforms.

After dinner the awards were handed out with Sifu Yara receiving the Ron Day Memorial Award and our smallest recipient Markus taking home some towering hardware for Mini Ninja of the Year.
